Today we are seeing an unprecedented movement of people around the world. Once every two seconds, someone is forced to leave their home. Many of them are children.
Children move for a variety of reasons, such as climate change, natural disaster, poverty, prejudice, war, escaping abuse, and lack of opportunity. Whilst on the move, their childhood is at risk. And damaged childhoods can lead to damaged futures – for these children, and for society as a whole. Collectively, we must act now. Together we can create a better society for everyone.
Whether displaced, migrating, returning home, living on the street, fleeing conflict, or moving for work; children on the move are more vulnerable to dangers and to losing their rights and experiencing difficulties.
