Associação Brasileira Terra dos Homens (ABTH) works with children and families in violent situations to prevent separation and provide a continuum of care options, including reintegration support, temporary foster care, and institutional reform. Approximately 80% of children in institutions in Brazil have some sort of recoverable family bond. Specializing in a holistic, well tested, systemic approach, ABTH works directly with children and families. Read more

Butterflies

Working with street and working children in Delhi since 1989, Butterflies believes in the right of every child to protection, respect, opportunities and participation in his/her own growth and development. Programmes are carried out in 12 contact areas in Delhi at points where there is a high concentration of street/working children such as at bus terminals, markets or railway stations. Butterflies also runs three night shelters in Delhi. Read more

Children Assistance Program (CAP) advocates for the rights of women and children in Liberia. Its mission is to rehabilitate the lives of Liberia’s war affected children and youth towards sustainable futures. Through its services, CAP creates access to a safe living environment and sustainable and equal opportunities for women, youth and children in Liberia. In 2010, 55% of Zimbabwe’s population were living below the poverty line and there were more than one million children who had been orphaned as a result of HIV and AIDS, in 2012 alone this number increased by 890,000. JUCONI

JUCONI works to prevent and heal the consequences of domestic violence affecting girls, children, youth and their families living in extreme poverty and who have been living on the street. Each year, JUCONI’s programme provides direct attention to 350 children from 120 families and 80% of those who have participated in the JUCONI programme have broken the cycles of poverty and violence and have been reintegrated into society. Almost 200,000 Korean children have been adopted internationally since the 1950s. Today hundreds of children are still being sent abroad for adoption every year. More than 90 per cent of babies put up for adoption are the children of unwed mothers, who fear being rejected by a socially conservative society. Read more
